Usually, a phone call suffices for me to tell everything but some people want more details, about size and technique and such then a video call is possible. Anyway these days, WhatsApp video calls have made things much easier and made me more approachable. Nowadays I can attend everyone’s calls.”
Consultation Charges
Dr Bheem mentioned, “The charges in Ganga Ram Hospital are around 1500. I would also like it if you don’t come physically but there are many patients who come from Delhi. So my consultation charges are 1000 rupees and the physical meeting costs 500 extra.”
Booking a surgery date
This Dr Bheem says that you should do this carefully. “Before surgery, it is a matter of slots. Like in the Indian scenario, winter and the colder months are preferred for post-surgery. So people prefer these months like you know October, November, December, January and February- I have full slots. So, that’s the thing, there is a lack of availability of slots. Additionally, I do one surgery a day. For the keyhole, it takes from 2.5 to 3 hours. And also for OT, I can only give Monday, Wednesday and Friday. So I ask the patients to choose. Even today if I talk about November, then I have say 3 multiplied by 4- 12 days and from that 6 have already been filled. In December 2 slots are filled.
Booking in Advance
Dr Bheem says, “So, if you want these winter months then try to take your tentative dates 1-2 months in advance. I cannot adjust otherwise and then the patients get confused as to why they are getting such delayed dates. Actually, for the last four years apart from gender Dysphoria, I have had other cases too and a lot of work. So three days in a week, that is, Monday, Wednesday and Friday- and then I do only one surgery a day if it’s a Double Incision or Keyhole. So if you have any slot preferences please take them from me 1-1.5 months in advance.”
