How do I deal with my self-doubt?
So the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual talks about Gender Dysphoria as a condition which you struggle with for at least more than 6 months. You do not align yourself with your gender identity and then you also want to change your gender identity into the one you identify with. We want to change our identity and feel comfortable in ourselves. This will include wanting the primary and secondary sexual characteristics of the other gender to be ours. And a constant feeling of, I wish people treated me like the other gender and not my biological gender. So say, someone assigned female at birth feels hurt at being called ma’am and does not want anyone to do that further. And along with that, we want to change our biological identity and become the gender identity we identify as. So if there is a strong feeling for that then there is ease in diagnosing and addressing this.
This can be done with the help of professionals or by meeting people who have transitioned and other people who have transitioned in the community whom you could relate to. You could also use the internet as a starting point to understand these things.
