How can I deal with my Psychiatrist if he is transphobic ?

India is filled with many medical professionals and a lot of them turn out to be transphobic. A lot of them deny treatment of any kind to us trans people. They might turn dangerous too trying out conversion therapy or stating that we are schizophrenic or that we are going through psychosis.  How do we recognise these people so that we can keep ourselves safe?
How to deal with a Transphobic therapist?
Every professional has their limitations. One of those might be a Lack of Awareness. A lot of others may not have specialised in the area. Not every doctor can treat everything, after all. So when you lay down your issues and then say they are not comfortable treating you then leave and find someone who can.
Then there are professionals who suggest conversion therapy, especially to family members. And this is something that we need to know and that is, there is enough awareness to know that this is not right. This is not some disease or illness that needs treatment
The bottom line is when you see that a professional is not helping you then change that professional.
