Introduction
Sriraksha V Srivastava is an advocate with CLPR she graduated from Tamil Nadu National Law University in 2019. Sriraksha then went on to work in the Madras High Court. There she worked on gender-related violence cases and Public interest Litigations (PILs).
Currently, Sriraksha works with the Centre for Law and Policy Research that is, CLPR. Here she leads the Trans Law Cell. Sriraksha is interested in the intersection of caste class and gender in her work.
Trans Law Cell
CLPR’s Trans Law Cell is an important cell as CLPR focuses on the upliftment of gender and sexual minorities. In it, the Trans Law Cell provides assistance to trans people with legal queries, legal assistance or any litigations that are going to happen in court.
What can the cell help with?
There are many things that CLPR can help with-
1. They can help with legal name and gender changes in official documents after the transition.
- They can help with filing an FIR at the police station.
- They can also help with finding a petition about a missing partner.
So there are many kinds of legal issues that they assist free of cost.
Drop-in sessions
On Tuesday, from 5 to 6 PM, you can drop in and they provide free consultations to anyone, here you can ask any legal questions and take a legal opinion free of cost.
