Periferry: The Ins and Outs
Trishala explains Periferry as a social-impact organisation.
What does Periferry stand for?
Trishala explains, “the word Periferry is derived from the word Peripheral, which means the edge. So going by our name we like to ferry the community from the fringes of society and bring them to the mainstream inclusive society. So that’s the explanation behind our name itself and so we only serve the Transgender community and so the services that we provide to them are free of cost, we don’t charge anything from the community.”
What services are provided?
“We provide services such as upskilling and also inclusive placements. And if we have any entrepreneurs who would like to start their businesses then we guide them with mentorship, so very briefly this is what we do for the community. For the corporates we host sensitization programmes, we promote inclusive placements and we do a lot of employee enrichment activities so kind of opening the door for interacting with the community and understanding them better. So briefly that’s what we do best”, says Trishala.
