Hi. I have experience with only domestic transit, and for me it was very smooth.
I don't know how it is in Bangalore, but I travelled from a metro city with cultural progressiveness and I didn't even get any questions. You can read my account somewhere in my post(comments) history.
I did pass. I also had my mask on and was with female company. So in didn't raise many eyebrows in the first place or extra attention.
Sure, every person that checked my docs (at entry ticket, boarding pass, security check) was a bit.. well let's juat say they needed a moment to reorient themselves. But no-one acted out or anything and gave me grief.
I didn't have to say anything. Sure a person with a particular gender marker on ID , with different presentations. It's not that odd, especially in a diverse country like India.
I would say just go with the flow, whatever queue they want you to and try not to worry about it. Wear less baggy clothing if possible so as not to raise unnecessary sus and need for extra checking or ..body patting etc.
