What are the SRS options available at Fortis Hospital ?
Sex Reassignment Surgeries are not a popular field, much less when Dr Richie Gupta started out. So what led him to choose this path? Especially at a time when no one knew about it and were generally dismissive about it.
The Journey of Dr. Richie Gupta
When Dr Richie started as a young practioner, he was not aware of SRS. And there weren’t many patients who asked for SRS either. And then, a patient approached him and asked him to help him transition to male. Dr Richie took a lot of time and researched about the procedures and the patients. In his research he came across the procedures and started doing them. First with top surgery and after the procedure he continued reading and presented his findings in a lot of meetings which made him more interested. So from 5 to 6 patients, he now has 250 patients in a year. This constitutes 50 percent of the surgical procedures in the Fortis hospital.
