Consultation Procedure
Dr Salil says, “If the consultation is face-to-face then great. It is only when you talk to someone face to face that you can really understand what their issues really are, what kind of treatment they need and what would they want out of the treatment- all of it would be clarified properly.
So the physical consultation happens in our Chrysalis treatment centre here in Pune. And the number and email shared above can be used for consultation.
After initial talks, we can fix a time when you can come and meet me in person according to your convenience. And so we will meet and have face-to-face talks and then we will examine you, which is the general procedure.”
Issues with a face-to-face consultation
Given Dr Salil’s experience in the field, he is aware of the issues that are faced by us Trans people in showing up for face-to-face consultations.
Dr Salil highlights, “There are issues based on distance and geographical location, people who live outside of Pune or even people who live outside of India face a lot of problems fulfilling this. So for that what we do is, initially, we will schedule a consultation over the phone or over email. And then like in face-to-face consultations, we will have an initial talk and then we will schedule a proper video consultation schedule. This will help in us having a proper conversation, have discussions so we can solve all your doubts and then we can plan ahead for an actual consultation and treatment in our hospital itself.”
Help in planning
Dr Salil also adds that they can help, if we desire it, to plan our entire trip. He says, “If you want we can plan everything for you, starting from your home to the airport or however is convenient for you and then from there to here. And then once you get here we can arrange and provide for all the local travel and stay and then your treatment and travel back.”
