and in PGI CHD you have to follow the procedure
i am going to share MY EXPERIENCE
1 . book an appointment with ENDOCRINOLOGIST with in just 20 rs (doctor are so humble and professional from junior to senior that they will make you feel so comfortable and wouldn't advice you anything until the whole team of 6 or 7 endo doctors agree upon together on your regime , so yes you have to wait for a whole day but surely in the end of the day whole team of endo will meet you and will observe your changes physically and mentally and then they will ask you to go for hormonal profile test . it happened in my case because i was already on hormones for a year and 8 months and yes .. hormone test total T and e2 cost 350rs only )
after the result visit again n then senior doctor will finalize your regime of hrt
2. If you want to go for surgery (as in my case) then ask endo to write that i am fit for the surgery . then book an another consultation in psychiatry deptt. based on referral given by endo. again it will cost 20 rs .
they will talk to you for 15-30 minutes n again you will meet with the whole team of doctors there . they all will look at your complete profile made by endo .
and then will write that you are fit for the surgery
3 you have to make an affidavit stating that you cannot conceive a child post op . and aware that this surgery is irreversible .(it costs me around 45 rs in punjab and high court chandigarh)
4. book an another consultation with an urologist based on the referral from psychiatric doc . now you will be ready with your complete profile .
then they will give you an operation date .
i have completed steps till this point .
and yes . they will keep you under observation for 15 days in the hospital . n trust me the hospital is indeed neat and clean .
even i have managed to have personal conversation with urologist for an hour
he said . they perform only PI . he showed me pics and gave contact number of a girl who already had gone through this surgery and he strictly said dilation is must post op for at least 6 months to a year 2- 3 times a day otherwise you will loose the depth .
and of course i did have a conversation with the girl n she said she is completely satisfied with the surgery . but she said she couldn't do the dilation for few months and thus have lost her depth . and she said it is now only 3 inches
AND OF COURSE YOU CAN USE YOUR AYUSHMAN BHARAT CARD TO AVAIL THE BENEFITS . UNDER THIS , THE WHOLE COST OF THE SURGERY IS FREE .
plus they also do plastic surgery and breasts implants .
but yes as this hospital is over crowded . you might have to wait for few days .
and past one year of my experience with pvt docs . was not so good .. they always were interested in money . and of course i am not challenging their expertise neither i have enough experience but i thought it is fine if i share my limited experience with you guys
