Very bad idea.

First hijra is a community .
Secondly we aren't hijras .. we dont belong to the hijra community...

Hijra system has many rules , seperate language, customs and unique jobs etc... If you can cope up with it you are welcome....

I cant say more than that... Do wait for others response... You wont find the difference between hijra and trans people as a whole...( Even online).

trans and hijras are one and the same. It is the term that was used for a long time in and around south Asian society to denote those persons who have migrated from the male to the female body. After the medical procedures were developed the term "trans" has gained prominence giving the words 'hijra', 'kothey', 'aravani' etc different meaning. It is to be noted that even before the development of medical procedures for transitioning, certain kinds of techniques have been followed in oriental societies.

Dear Noor-Raheema , I understand that there is a lot of exoticism & glorification about the Hijra system of India in the far west. But i wud suggest you to note that the grass is always greener on the other side. Beneath the exoticism of the oriental culture, there also lies the sufferings and pain of people who are trapped in the bonded labour & Slave trade that exist within the hijra jamath system. hi Noor-Raheema. Its good to hear that you are interested in Hijra community and aware of Indian culture.
just keep in mind that all hijras are transgender but all transgender are not hijra. Hijra is a old cultural practice used by androgynous people, transwoman, intresex people , castrated male of India. Even there is some Hijra those who are not typically feel female identity inside. there is no English term of Hijra, Cause this culture you only find in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, srilanka Nepal only. They have there own rule, job , spirituality. Being trans its not necessity to be a hijra. there is many misconception about hijra and transexual woman in western countries even in India too.
they faced much more struggle and discrimination than a transsexual girl or other trans girl of country. hope those information will help you to decide. wish Our Indian hijra community will be welcoming towards you.

Becoming hijra and live as hijra is not easy. Me khud isi tarah ka hu, meri female ki tarah rehne ka shok vahi par rehne par pura huva aur me abhi bhi vahi hu. Mera group bahut achha he isiliye thik he. Varna mene auro ko dekha he bahut buri position hoti he. Wo log bahut ladaku hote he. Isiliye better he ki agar apke pass atmosphere positiive he tho society me rehkar hi apni womanish thought and desire puri karo, best of luck
