Aadhar update with Tg certificate fails in Pune?

Hi so I tried updatingy aadhar card by going to the kendra provided through the bank, filled out the form and submitted my tg certificate and id as supporting documents to update my name and gender. Except it got rejected.

Was told to email the uidai help /official email.
And all I was told is that it's an invalid/incorrect document??
The tg certificate I uploaded was the orginal one that has the DM's stamp on it too.

The email said to go to a permanent centre as well and as far as I know what I went to was a permanent centre. I'm in Pune, now what do I do?

Someone else I know went to the post office to update his recently for the same and his also got rejected.

Do go to a proper Aadhar Seva Kendra and do the update again as well as ask the Aadhar seva kendra manager to send an email to help@uidai and to the regional office that your application is a special case and share this document also if you can as in the below linked docuemnt it clearly states that TG ID can be used to change Name, Gender and Address

RG02 Online doesn't allow you to update gender, they tell you go to a seva kendra.

Realneilbruce hi neil thanks for sharing the details. I went to permanent enrolment centre itself and I'd followed the same guidelines.
But basically what has occurred this time in Pune (this is after speaking to an activist that's heavily involved in this) was that there seems to be some new policy update.

If the supporting documents say TG certificate and such just like it is in the approved documents then it seems they are looking at the gender being updated to T and not the binary. Which is still a bit silly if you ask me.
Anyway we got it cleared through for someone else by specifying that the documents is a state id in the supporting documents section. And that has gotten approved

I'm currently waiting on mine which also required a mandatory biometric update first and so therefore I'll get my name changed after this is done

There is a very clear order from the HC that the TG act and rules are a special legislation, hence it trumps any policy guidelines issued through a general legislation aka the policy which you mentioned

The ID is a state government issued
The certificate is issued as per the act and rules which are not optional but mandatory to change

Realneilbruce I wholeheartedly agree with you, I'm just as stumped as you are and I've had my update rejected twice with the reason given that it's an invalid id proof.

Just tell them their job as an enrollment centre is to update details as given if it get's rejected it will be on you but until then they have to update the details that you are giving

Also, ask the enrollment centre manager to send an email with reference to your application ID to the regional centre and tell him to mention in the email that your case is a special case

Hi so I ended up having to register an official complaint in the CPGRAM dept and this is the response I got

It is found that resident (my name) has tried to update her gender and name in Aadhaar first time (urn no) the same is got rejected due to Invalid Proof of Identity document. In this regard, kindly note that as per the current list of the document and name change SOP, for first/full name change gazette notification and an old name PoI is required. Therefore , you are hereby requested to visit the nearest authorized Aadhaar center and re-update your name in Aadhaar by submitting Gazette notification (affixing photograph with crossed signature on it) along with proof of identity of old name (as per updated Aadhaar).

In any case I have updated it finally via the gazette which was accepted

cause their very gov website accepts the doc without gazette

Yes I did and got an automated response even after citing their own document. I spoke to another guy that runs a Maha e-seva kendra and he mentioned that the latest circular has removed the tg id from the documents list for the one that the govt officials are referencing.

Hi are you based in Pune in that case I can direct you to the kendra centre I went through.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, I got my changed adhaar after following the latest advice given to me and so did another transguy I know. I got mine in about 5 days

Get a gazette in your new name. Affix a passport size photo of yourself next to where your name is and make a cross signature on it on the gazette (half on the photo not covering your face and half on the gazette)

That's all you will need. Don't submit the tg id at all.

To change your gender you do not need any supporting documents only for the name you need the gazette.

In case you're also updating your biometrics then do the above in two steps, change either name + biometrics or gender + biometrics.

Don't attempt to change more than 2 things at a time.
