Aniya This is a big issue, but the best way to get jobs is not to make being trans your whole thing.

Try to present as your identifying gender. For example, if you are a trans-woman, get rid of facial hair, style your hair and eyebrows to be more femme, if you have a deep masculine voice then train your voice and speak softly until it becomes natural to you, wear more feminine clothes if it'll help you pass more, and grow hair longer if it helps you pass more. Then with female marked IDs (which except for passports are now very easy to change), apply as you (a woman) and not as "trans" person - this collective obsession with wanting to identify as trans person has to stop. If you are a woman, you are one. It shouldn't matter if you are a cis-woman or trans-woman. All the prejudice is not going to disappear anytime soon. In fact, we only got Transgender Persons (Protections Act) very recently. Give it a couple more decades until the stigma of being a trans person wears off and people start treating us like human beings.

I have Asperger's syndrome and no completed degree. I got a few jobs as a woman which I did as side gigs over the years. Note that, I don't identify as a "trans" woman, but as a woman, being trans is just what I am categorically. Anyway, these jobs weren't something I could do full-time as my monthly expenses from loan EMIs are just too high. Regardless, I've worn many a hats as cashier, secretary, data entry clerk, admin assistant, etc. I even been an IT Support at a nursing home for a year at ₹25k per month without a degree with just my CompTIA certifications (which has now expired). I had trouble working people-facing jobs, but I even tried being a waitress, spa attendant, and even tried tutoring (not for me, too much social activity) as a Computer science teacher at a tuition center. I was treated as a cis-women, whether they realized it or not. I carried myself authentically. I did not dress up or glam up as someone or to fit stereotypes, I dressed as myself. I'm a strong believer that clothes don't make us. Our energy is more important.

The point is, most jobs that are available to cis-women are available to us. If you have degrees and certifications, you'll get MNC jobs. I got quite far with my certs that have expired now. However, now that I'm in my 30s and with how job market is nowadays, renewing certs alone won't help me get tech jobs. If I had a degree then no problems, I would 100% get a job at an MNC if they can get past my Asperger's syndrome.

We just don't have to make a big deal of being "trans" and just have to present as our identifying gender. If you are too masculine and want to present as your assigned at birth gender, by all means, go for it, survival is survival. If you don't have access to credit, save up for gender-affirming treatments in survival mode. Just don't needlessly complicate your life by fussing over wanting to be seen as a trans person and demanding acceptance. You simply hurt your chances in this messed-up society. 🥹
