As I was about to finish my makeup with the touch of lipstick and suddenly a voice rang out from the outside of my hut; " Late today?".

I rolled my eyes as I knew who was there. "I won't suck your dick for five hundred rupees, Bittu." I replied. His persistence always annoyed me and I realised I let him know that I am here, a thought passed through my mind "I should have kept quiet." before I could say anything else he burst in with clankering of iron wall greeting him.

"Who said anything about sucking dick, Jaan? I am here to get a kiss in exchange for my heart.", he said.

I narrowed my eyes "He really not asking for sexual favours, that's new is he alright?" and than examine his temperature,"Uh wha..", he uttered before I indicated "shhhh....". His chest's rhythm increased as I shush him.

My pace didn't shook and my steps echoed, as I moved pass them their muffled laughter was irritating.

"Late again beta?", old man said while resting on the mak shift bed. His wrinkly eyes were full of gentleness.

My pace slowed down and hands curled, " DId you ate your medicine? Uncle?" And then his eyes fell down.

The answer was clear. I just had to hand feed him third time this week, "Why do always forget to take your medicine? " I hesitated before continuing,"Don't you want to remember your daughter?".

" Aren't you like my daughter too?" He asked.

"I don't have enough of lifespan to care about such matters." He said and hearing such words my eyes widened after which he held my shoulders and said," Let me forget her, beta." While carrying a heavy mist in his eyes.

"I s-sell my body to survive, many refuse to adress me as a w-oman and yet you adress me as your daughter. Why do you defame your real like that?", I said as tears drench cheeks.

"I know you and you are a daughter to me, yes my real daughter won't be pleased in whichever heaven she is but she is not here and she does not matter as much as you at right now.", said the old man as he couldn't hide the hurt he felt as he said it.

"If that what you want them I won't force you uncle but don't skip the meal Bittu will bring for you." I said as I wipe away his tears with my saree before standing up.

After which I continued on the path ahead but now steps sometimes get drag behind.

Road was getting narrow and starting to tilt within my sight after some more steps I saw and garbage filled river site. Plastic wrappers to polythene all waste reside here the air gently pass through my cheeks as my hair glide through the air.

Ahead lays a narrow path accompanied by a bridge in the distance but I felt like sitting and sat there near the river bank looking at the plastic bits floating through the was in circles. I lay down into the grass ground letting the air to become a blanket, in a distance a man discreetly threw away another pile of garbage after which a thought crossed my mind "I was thrown out too", my eyes became heavy and soon were closed.

Sound of splashing water jolted me up right, and laughter echoed there as little girl came into my view.

She was fishing there with her skirt as a net those fish were as small as an inch, her face houses a cute mole on left cheek.

Her eyes were fixated on the fish and she was unbothered by all the garbage, I don't know what stirred within me but I finally resumed my movement.

As I crossed the river through that narrow path and met the road again before the sun reached the horizon letting blue hue to be only light in streets.

My steps were lonely as they echoed. Ahead laid a road brimming with business,

Vendor stood in corners serving their livelihood, uncles drunk tea under the make shift tea stall.

And it was time to earn my livelihood, I walked ahead with the swinging hips and I reached out under my blouse just to pat my breast, I could feel the eyes on me they weren't predatory but they were curious.

Few uncles already started their bike, in the alley way stood the hotel before i reach there, I encounter a lihood part of my livelihood.

"How much?", he asked.

" Five hundred for sucking, thousand for a night, but...." I showed him my middle finger and pointed at my genitals before saying, "there's something between my legs you should be aware of.".

His eyes widened but he asked, "Chandani hotel?".

I nodded my head and entered the hotel.

Inside a guy was sleeping on the reception table with the box on which,"I am sick so just put 100 rupees in this box and take the key hanging ahead." was written.

He slipped in the the shabby note of 100. And we checked in to 9th room.

Old creaking stairs were there to remind me of what this work does.
