Have anyone tried renting thru colive in Bangalore ?

Hello everyone,
I'm trying to rent a sharing or single room. I just need to know any trans friendly places in and around Bangalore. Colive and zolo apps say they have unisex sharing pg all around Bangalore( I donno if they have inclusion of trans). im lil skeptical about it. So If anyone have or had experience from this please share.

Yes I have and DON'T DO IT. Please steer well clear of this company. My reason has nothing to do with being trans( I am not out as trans) but the unethical practices of this company( they wont refund your deposit, they ask you to pay an extra months rent when you give notice and if you dont , youre slapped with a legal notice).

Dont rent from them!!!

Bianca thanks for sharing this information, yeah they have issue I have read thier terms and conditions. But apart from those issues im about the support and inclusion. Did you encounter any problems for LGBT people in your stay at them? (Assuming you stayed there) only answer if you wish to. Thank you.

I am not " out" as trans. So no-one knew so I cant comment on whether they are inclusive or not.I stayed in one of their properies for 8 months.

I personally haven't... But quite a few of my friends have... Colive apparently has a trans policy so they will not discriminate against you for being trans... but as @Bianca said, they will not refund your deposit, and they will get rude if you delay your rent... Recently, a friend of mine paid the security and booking amount for a room and they told her the rent agreement is for 8k but she only has to pay 5k per month... She stayed there for a few days and didn't like the room, so she said she asked them to transfer the security deposit from this colive to another nearby colive so she can shift there and pay the rent for that place... This IS a service they provide... but they kept telling her to raise a ticket on the colive app, which does not work... She tried to tell them this but they didn't listen... After they dragged this issue for 2 weeks, they said she has to pay 8k for the rent for this place even though she was moving out and they still hadn't transferred her security to the other colive... they threatened to throw all her stuff on the road if she didn't pay the full amount...

tl;dr - Colive is a money-grabbing monster who will trick you into getting a room for a low price, and then ask you for more money and threaten you with goons to make you pay.

P.S- I just got a room at a zolo stay in marathahalli. I don't know if zolo is better or worse than colive yet. But, I'll keep you posted

The_fluid_bi You are spot on!! Yes, the Colive App didnt work for me either. There is unfortunately no other way to communicate with Colive personnel except through their dodgy app. I gave my Notice to Vacate via email but after I vacated i was charged 1- months extra rent on the basis that I didnt give notice via the app ( which didnt work!!,).

I said it once, and will say it again: dont go anywhere near a Colive property

The_fluid_bi what a eye opener, I guess now I'll look into other service providers, as this month is ending I need a place ASAP, hope I'll get into one with not much issues to face. It'll be Super awkward as I'm looking forward for my medical transition in these PGs.

@Bianca @suchitra I felt like I should update about my experience with zolo stays... We had booked two rooms in zolo ginger by paying 800rps per bed... After about 4 days, we called to ask them about the advance... They already knew all of us were trans women... The property manager told us that they don't give rooms to trans people... When we pointed out that zolo stays has a trans policy against discrimination, the manager said he'll get back to us and cut the call... After a few mins, he called us back and said that a corporate has booked all available rooms.... I don't know which excuse is true...

Since we have to move out of our current place by the end of this month, we've booked two rooms at **********... They are a money grabbing monster, but atleast you can count on them caring more about money than the gender of who stays at their place...

The_fluid_bi please don't share your current address publically, as it's impossible to track who's viewing these posts, safety is important. There's only one place with that name in Bangalore so it's quite obvious.

The_fluid_bi hi trans woman here. Shall be relocating to bangalore on 17th july. Im hoping to find a place myself. Sharing a room jn a flat or getting a pg room. Idk what to do and how to.

Read your posts. Zolo and colive, both dont sound good . Im lookibg for a place to live myself which is trans and cat friendly (yes i got a kitten)
