Hello everyone,
Something really negative has happened to me recently. I initially approached Dr. Bipin Kumar Sethi very desperately to get on female hormones since my previous doctor did not want to give me female hormones. Dr. Bipin was very helpful in terms of prescribing me the right medicine to consistently block my testosterone and also gave me 3mg estrogen as dosage. My negative experience that I want everyone here to know is that Dr. Bipin has only given me 3mg estrogen for almost 3 years now, and he never asked for any estrogen blood level checks. Which means that he has no idea what he is doing in terms of HRT even though he may seem sympathetic to the transgender cause. Upon questioning him, about his approach, he opened up a much worse statement than I could have anticipated and is that he is treating me like a post-menopause women who doesn't have ovaries, which essentially means that he is giving me just enough estrogen to avoid any symptoms which may arise if I don't have any hormones in my boy. He tries to defend his low dosage with the argument that increasing estrogen dosage to more than 3mg would lead to blood clots and he wanted me to have a safe path. Though it makes logical sense, natal woman who have not yet undergone menopause have much higher levels of estrogen in their body and 3mg just might not be enough. Further more, natal woman have already undergone the feminization process in their puberty, where as in my case I will have to revert my male puberty and try to refeminize myself which would definitely require more estrogen and obviously Im not saying we need to take more estrogen but what I am saying is that he missed out one of the most important aspects of Male to Female HRT, which is to actively measure patient's estrogen levels and try to maintain normal female levels. Dr. Bipin further defends himself saying that estrogen tests are not accurate etc I was talking to other transwomen and realised that they are taking upwards of 6mg or even 9mg per day and are regularly doing estrogen level checkup while in my case I entirely skipped the entrogen checks for almost 3 years. This lead to me losing pretty much 3 years of feminization gains and I started my transition at the age of 18 years old hoping to make use of that early time to feminize myself and be very passable as a woman. Unfortunately now that plan seems to have gone awash due to Dr. Bipin's gross clinical negligence. If he doesn't know how to treat according to WPATH standards then he should not treat transgender patients.
I have adviced a lot of transgender women here to go to Dr. Bipin for Endocrinologist because he seemed to be the only supportive doctor in Hyderabad atleast. Now that this situation arose, I don't think Dr. Bipin has any idea about what he is doing.
I can forward you his emails for proof.
