Irrespective of how long it takes for me to get the gender Dysphoria certificate, what would be the next step? How do we start the medicine? And for that do we have to visit the doctors compulsory? Like what would be generally be the time gap ,between getting the certificate and the first dose of HRT? And generally how much will it cost a month for those medicines?

androgynous Hi, after getting a letter of support from your psychiatrist, you may consult an endocrinologist whenever it may suit you, there is no set time gap, A lot of people see the endocrinologist as soon as they can so that their bloodwork may be examined, and according to their results are prescribed meds that they can start immediately. That is what my plan is.

It is also a good idea to know what steps you want to take in regards to your transition. Not everyone goes for a medical transition and not all who do end up getting surgeries. Understand where you are and where you want to be and what your goals are. That is most important since there is no one way to transition.

Also, self medication can be really dangerous and it is ideal to consult a medical professional who keeps monitoring your levels and overall health on a regular basis.

Not sure about the cost, I'm a newbie just like you, waiting on a letter from my psychiatrist. From what I've heard it ranges from 500-1000, but I could be wrong...

1) GD Fitness certificate takes 2 days max. Dr. Neha Shah, is a transgender specialist who is situated in mumbai and available for online consultations via video or voice calls.

2) Once you have a session with her, and if she has analyzed your situation well then she will give you a contact of a clinical psychologist for conducting online test which will cost you around 1500 rs. The test is not for determining whether you are a girl or not but to determine the state of your mind so be positive. Once your reports are up, Dr. Neha issues the certificate for free.

3) You may contact any endo but i strongly recommend Dr. Dheeraj Kapoor from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital mumbai, they have a mobile app as well through which you can consult him online, he charges 1600 for first consult and 1500 there after. Before you consult him, it is better you get the following tests done so that you don't have to waste another day to start with your HRT

All path lab blood tests, with 12 hrs of fasting compulsory
1) Lipid Profile
2) Liver profile (SGPT, SGOT)
3) Kidney profile
4) Homocysteine Levels
5) Hormonal levels

no prescription required for the above tests and if asked for the doctor's name you can mention Dr. Dheeraj Kapoor

androgynous it affects a lot!!!!!!!!!!! No pain no gain!!! Take up the pain of not eating junk and too much oily and spicy .... Depression causes worst eating habits I know...build up urself for a bright future...buckle up!!
