Hey I just went to Dr. Sri Laskmi Pingali today. If you want a one word review: Disappointed. But hey, I got some good information out of it.
So, she told me not many psychiatrists in India follow the WPATH method and that she wants us to live as fem before giving us the Gender Dysphoria Certificate. I said I wasn't gonna do that before going a few months on HRT. So, she said then I could go to Dr. Bipin Kumar Sethi, Endocrinologist in care hospital and they only need a psychometric test before you can go on hormones with consent (ie. no GD certificate required) and psychometric test although I don't know what it entails it can also show your depression and/or anxiety and if you have them you will not be allowed to go on HRT.
What else I got from the session is that I focused too much on myself for figuring out that I am trans and psychiatrists focus more on the social aspect. She wants to make sure I am mentally ready for transitioning by living as a women.
So for now I was thinking
job > psychometric > start HRT, and get the GID certificate after a year or so around when I'll start thinking about surgeries.
