First thing is that Kinnar or Hijra is cult or society and niether every transwoman is hijra nor every hijra is transwoman.
It is matter of choice to join hijra community you just had follow thier rules and had to be a part of community, no matter what you are.
Never get confused between those two words.
Then about the movie Laxmii, which is a remake of movie Kanchana by same director, according to me is not as good as the original one, but if you haven't watched Kanchana yet, you might like the story and acting in Laxmii.
One thing was awkward about this movie is that they didn't want to promote the superstition according to the intro of movie but it messed up the movie's cocept which solely written on supernatural powers and tantra mantra.
Now, what it has done for us, NOTHING.
As most of people in our society don't understand the differece between Transgender person and hijra. The movie tried to tell people to see everyone equally. Which is not easy for people to digest. Because people always want masala and they were said to be neutral towards us or anyone else.
Including a trans charcter in movie doesn't means that it is for trans people.
The revolution happens when actual trans people work in movies and people see them as ideals like other hero, heroines, not the person in need.
We are strong and capable.
It is upto law and other people when they start to see as a common person.
We don't need special laws like trans right act we need human rights which all other people have.
