Hoomi-L Actually one of the main reason I opted for this surgery is due to my prescription androgen blocker pills failing to block my testosterone. Not only that it reduced my blood pressure a lot n depleted my sodium levels.. So had to stop it cold turkey.
I had the option of going on shots or injections to block my T but went against it after deciding that orchi is a better choice for me as I would be able to get rid of my dysphoric testicles once and for all.
My surgery was done 3 months back under informed consent by a trans friendly cosmetic surgeon. The procedure was simple bilateral orchi and my scrotum skin was left intact for future GCS surgery.. It costed me 35K in total including all the charges coz I opted for general anesthesia & not local coz I didn't want to get a panic attack in the middle of a surgery.
Also my recovery if not great, was good. I was asked specifically not to lift anything heavy or do vigorous exercises for a month after the surgery. I had no pain whatsoever from the surgery (but several others have experienced pain after the procedure). My T initially was high after the procedure with constant unwanted errections in the morning which was highly dysphoric.. But in a matter of weeks my T slowly melted away to castrate or female ranges.. And the blood tests confirmed the same.
Also I started my HRT only on the month of March this year but I didn't have any changes due to my T not getting blocked. It's only after my surgery I have started finally seeing breast growth and skin softening, new hair growth in head and reduced hair growth in my body... Also mentally I am more calmer now.. And the best part is now I can transition at a low dose of E.
