Hello Trans Folx!
I know that it can be very tough and full of obstacles being trans in India. Some of us might have multiple concerns and queries regarding transitioning medically or socially. But currently, we have much substantial issue that is affecting each individual in the entire world.
The outbreak of Coronavirus.
A Virus that is being transmitted from person to person infecting millions of people with COVID-19 Disease. Majority of patients who are infected experience slight illness and recover by themselves, but at the same time it can also be life-threatening for others. And no vaccine or cure has been yet found by the medical professionals.
Thus it is most important for all of us to realize our social responsibilities and follow the precautions provided by the World Health Organisation. These are:
Sanitize or Wash your hands frequently
Maintain social distancing
Avoid touching eyes, nose and mouth
Practice respiratory hygiene
If you have fever, cough and difficulty breathing, seek medical care early
Stay informed and follow the advice given by your healthcare provider
Please consider that coronavirus is not a joke, patients in Italy are kept in the waiting rooms because the ICUs are full already. Number of people is dying each day because of this. All of it is happening because people are still traveling around and transmitting the virus from person to person. And if you do not practice quarantine /isolation, it could also be you, or your dear one.
Put your meetup and hangout plans on hold until things get better.
Stay indoors, stay safe. You are always welcome here to invoke thoughtful discussions, talk about things, put up your queries but kindly do not plan any meet-ups. If you have any surgery or medical appointment in the coming weeks/months, If you have traveling plans, for any matter that is not related to COVID-19, I would strongly recommend, you postpone it. Spends some time with your dear ones and family. For the ones who are not in good terms with the family, I understand your discomfort but do hold on for a while.
I’m also attaching some posters from WHO, which are about the things we can do during the Quarantine period. 🙂
