Yes Sara I agree with Deepa, don't cut your hair. Let it grow so that you can tie it up in a decent pony and then trim it just a bit. I understand your apprehension about weird looks. When I was in the midst of transition way back in 1998, I was in XIIth standard and I had not cut my hair for over a year and a half, they had grown almost waist length so I used to tie it in a "Jooda" like a normal woman and with a middle parting, OMG what all I had to go through for this in College. Less said the better. But I did not cut it. So after transition my hair grew to almost 9 inches below my waist and its still the same. So try wearing it long and it feels so feminine too.
