Jobs portal for LGBTQ people

I went over the internet to find a few lgbtq job portals but most of them are for foreign countries, especially where lgbtq people got some rights and all.. I haven't looked specifically at indian job portals for lgbtq people. I assume there isn't one though.

here's one popular site i found http://www.pink-jobs.com but i don't think there's any job listed encircling indian job space..

I feel like we should have a jobs portal for transgender India as well. I assume it's often quite difficult to find jobs in our community, and getting a job would be hard, and sometimes rare. I can tell that a lot of hijra and trans people get jobs in positions depending on their skill but it's often hard to find such recruiters or so I assume.

Do you guys think that there should be a dedicated jobs portal for LGBTQ & Hijra people in India? How successful would this step be? Do you think recruiters will be willing to post jobs in this portal if we made one?
would this step impact atleast some amount of the unemployment faced by lgbtq and hijra people? and maybe this will also help take away the stigma that lgbtq people, hijra people are just normal and can earn a living and live with pride?

Just thoughts, cus i've not found an lgbtq portal for jobs...

swapna so far i havent seen any but there are considerations to be seen

For example some transgenders are not qualified enough .they dont have pre financial support like most.

Example take kochi metro they employed trans people for Rs9400 salary but they had to pay a rent of Rs400 every day at rooms and lodges as they are the only places they are allowed to stay. Moreover this was a big problem . First they were underpaid second their timings shifted each day so they couldnt get proper part time jobs. They had no assets so no backup or no support .

So i would suggest a support site which can have trans friendly psychiatrist, stay homes , rental, endocrinologist ,hospitals,educational institution etc.....

Then they can be also things like stay and food free for work or one month free service.

These things need to be fixed first. Then we can think about the jobs which has its own problems like sexual harassment, underwages , over time etc. So a legal body is a must .

But a changes is occurring transition by educated persons irrespective of background has occurred .

One thing that is very critical for finding jobs for transgender persons is to be an advocate for your sisters and brothers and gender non-binary siblings once you have a job. To lead proudly by example, and to encourage your co-workers and management to continue to hire and employ transgender persons.

I do not know if it violates a policy for this message board, so please show forgiveness. I wanted to share the video that I encouraged my company to make, highlighting our support of transgender employees at Black & Veatch Corporation, who employ people in Pune, Mumbai, and some other locations in India (as well as around the world.) This is me in the video, and also shown is Ari Copeland our out and proud transgender man (he is the man with the beard), my wife, and two other transgender women.

I proposed that my company to make this video, in the hope that it might encourage other employers to recognize and celebrate their transgender employees. They enthusiastically agreed, and I think they did a good job (they actually make me look less ugly than I am, LOL).

Is there a possibility that this will help trans people who are non-Indian wanting to relocate to India? I am seriously considering leaving India. If I had a way to have a very good, secure job with financial security, I would seriously consider living there for 12 years per the law to eventually get citizenship and say to the USA "Namaste, MFs!"

Yes, it's really challenging to find the Job portals for LGBTQ people in India.

I had experienced same like @swapna mentioned at above,,,, and agree too,,,

But, we have to try other way that, checking updates of Big industries, firms or MNC's latest news about their Human resource teams or Management teams developments in Indian employment.

I have a WhatsApp number that gives a lot of information about LGBTQ issues, progress, jobs, laws and more. This info got from Gaylaxy Empowering Expressions web site and find the attached image for number. I think many of you know about this group, once again i'm adding here to make more aware for others.

In mumbai I have came across a trust namely 'THE HUMSAFAR trust' which works as a support group to the LGBT people. In order to carry out its activities, this trust itself needs employees and it prefers employing LGBT people over others. I think there might be other such organisation who may be prefering LGBT people over others but have no idea how can people reach them.

Many of the big multinations and corporates have policies of no discrimination towards LGBT people at work place. How much these policies are actually being followed is a different question but yes private companies are generally more serious on effective implementation of their policies. Also people may need higher level of education or specific industry skills in order to land a job in these companies.
