A little introduction first, I am a doctor from India and my girlfriend is a graphic designer from a foreign country, I will not name the country because LGBTQ+ people are hated there to the extent that they are at risk of being killed.
My girlfriend is a trans woman and we have been friends for some 8 years and in a relationship since 2 years.
This year finally we decided that she would move to Delhi and we would live together and start her transition and I would help her. I even posted a query here asking which place was safe for trans people in Delhi. Finally after 2 years of long distance and all the hardship that comes with it, we were starting to get some hope that we would finally be together but there seems like the hardship never ends. Apparently, she looked at the Indian govt. website to see what is required for Working visa in India and it said that she needs to earn, 17 lakhs p.a which she doesn't and that she should be working in a job that no other Indian can hold a qualification to.
Both of us are quite depressed and feeling hopeless now. Both of us saw this as an opportunity for her to start a new life. I didn't know what to do so I am posting there here hopeing that this distracts me for a while. Why does India have such harsh work visa rules?
I feel so lost and hopeless.
