Do I need a gazette notification for applying for a passport?

I got my transgender ID card/certificate with F marker and have applied for updating my name and gender in my Aadhaar card. However all of my 10/12 marksheets, degree certificate documents are in my dead name. Would I need a gazette notification on top of the transgender ID card/certificate to apply for a fresh passport in non ECR category?

I had never applied for a passport before so this will be a fresh passport application not modifying name/gender in existing passport. If any of you have gotten a new passport without gazette notification could you please let me know how the process went for you?

I would advise to get gazette notification, it could really come in handy. Along with Aadhaar, get one more ID (like Pancard or DL) with updated name.

Currently I'm on the process of getting my revised passport with name and gender change at Bangalore. Documents they requested are gazette, 2 name & gender changed ID, affidavit and medical document.
Even though medical documents are not supposed to be asked, RPO office personal sent an courier to hospital for document authenticity verification.
Now I have been asked to revisit RPO, later this month...
(I have raised grievience, but of no use)...

Yuvathi what counts as medical document if I may ask? is GID and HRT sufficient or do they explicitly want surgeries?

My passport verification is completed now. Yet to receive my updated passport, probably I may receive in a week.

Actually I initiated the process on Nov first week. So it's been 3 months now ...

Which RPO did you submit the application in?
Also, what medical document did you submit?

I have my new aadhaar, pan, gazette, affidavit and discharge summary from the hospital. Do you think I would require something else?

reason for the delay is appointment availability for each visit. I applied at Bangalore PSK and RPO.

If you're applying for first time then you may need educational documents or birth certificate. Better check in their app or website for required documents.

This is the format I used in 2022, better check with gazette office either state/central if there is any recent changes. Also, state to state procedure can differ.

I'm from Pune and recently applied for name change gazette notification through aaple sarkar portal. In that portal we just have name change gazette notification. You can keep TG card for safer side.
