New comers in Bangalore

To the new comers in Bangalore or who came without any contacts how did you find a place to rent and start living in Bangalore?

I would have shifted to Bangalore a long ago but the deposit the owners ask for are not deposits that's extortion money 1-2 lakhs and recently I got to know in K R puram it's now 5 lakhs.

People who earns in lakhs per month may be it is ok but not atleast for me. I am not earning in lakhs and there is no guarantee that my money even will be safe after sending. I have also gathered a lot of stories about Bangalore police and courts so I have 0 faith.

Note - I am a fully transitioned transgender, not a man wearing sarees who can blend in male pg or with males.

i signed up to sites like nobroker and housing.com.
deposits stand around 1L which major portions are harder to get back, they create issues and try to scam you. My last landlord swindled 50k from me.
Rent is very high in central areas and gated apartments. You have to look for good deals and be vigillant to not to get scammed.
People get by by splitting rent like 2 people living in 1bhk to save cost.
I live in 2bhk and pay 15k rent in the outskirts of the city but there are no shops and restaurants nearby.
I am looking to move to different place and may be get roommate to save cost too. Let me know If you want to connect. (i am not full transitioned tho, i am in the middle)
