Help Needed: Timeline for Receiving Transgender ID After Application Accepted

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all doing well. I'm seeking your assistance regarding my application for a transgender ID. I applied on the 13th of March 2025 and received an auto-generated email confirming that my request has been accepted. Currently, the status on the portal indicates, “Process Completed. Certificate would be issued shortly.”

Could anyone who has gone through this process share how long it took for them to receive their ID card after reaching this status? Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

It depends on workload of relevant officer
As soon as district collector have time u ll get certificate

It takes roughly 45 days, that's how long it took for me after that initial acceptance email.
Might also take you lesser time but I would be prepared for it to take that long

Additionally I know you didn't ask but for aadhar change carry the certificate and id. Although it's pertinent to remember that the change on your aadhar will be on the basis of the certificate and not the id. If you submit the id only it will be rejected.

I just did this change and I was told this by the aadhar kendra guy's supervisor. This was also verified by another activist, who mentioned that "Id is to verify you.. certificate is the authorized document allowing for the change"

Charlie Thanks , it was very informative . However without transgender certificate and ID i had applied for Name change in Aadhar on 17 feb’25 with supporting documents such as my dead name PAN Card; Central Gazettee copy and my Gender reassignment surgery certificate . But it’s still “in progress” status . I met Assistant Director of UDAI regional office at Bengaluru last month and submitted all documents again with a letter . In total it’s been more than 2 months still in progress.

Also note they said Name and gender cannot be changed at same time . But for name change only I am literally struggling .

Jessieworld mine was stuck for around 4 months in Assam Govt. I had to call the office multiple times to get it through.

After Apply8ing for TG Certiticate without changing anything in name and simply uploading pan, adhar and affidavit, Do the DM office call physically in the DM office or send any staff to home adress?

If they have any queries they can tell to visit DM office but it's also rare
