Process to apply name and gender change via central Gazette

Hi everyone, Recently I got my GD certificate. I want to know can we publish name and gender change in central (India) Gazette before starting the HRT with the help of only GD certificate? And what process need to require to publish Gazette. Please guide me on this. Thank you in advance.

Why do you want to use Gazette notification when you can do the same with TG ID?
If you are looking to change your name and gender in all your documents you can directly apply for a TG ID Under Section 7 of the Transgender Protection of Rights Act 2019 and Rules 2020 and using the TG ID you can change all your docs from Passport to any Revenue certificate issued by the Tahasildar

Realneilbruce I don't know any recent changes of TG card. 2 yrs back i have checked If we apply for TG, gender will be mentioned as transgender on our document which I don't want. So bcoz of that I thought I will proceed with Gazette notification. Plz correct me if I have half info regarding TG card.

Realneilbruce hi, I had applied for tg card on 16th May 2024 but didn't received it yet. I am planning to directly apply for revised tg card as I am on hrt but the problem is I live in gurugram and the address which is in my aadhar card is of my home town which is in uttarakhand. How can I apply from gurugram?

Realneilbruce you cannot change your full name with TG ID, that is why Gazette is still needed. I could only change Gender with TG ID

When you initially applied you might have applied under section 6 of the act which only needs an affidavit declaring yourself as transgender, now you have GD certificate from a medical intervention through counselling or hormone or surgery you can use any of it and do the same process again and get a certificate under section 7 of the act where you can declare yourself as either male or female

You got to send a mail to the joint secretary, social justice department to your deputy Commissioner or District magistrate of district in which you have applied for the TG card

I am not very sure if you can apply for another TG card while you have applied for one already, so just check with your district magistrate and social Justice department about this
