In a country where doctors think they're gods, rather than service providers, it's our own duty to take care of our bodies. I would also suggest reading up everything you can on this, including the endocrine society's guide, and one guide by Dr Seal from UK. Just taking pills without doing any tests, even if with a prescription, is practically the same as self-medicating, and can be useless/harmful, depending on the situation.
