Electrolysis and occasional touch up with the newer laser systems that work effectively with darker skin. When I transitioned back in the early 2000s all of the first Electrolysis Technicians I went to ended up causing damage to my skin because they were not studied in removing thick, curly hair.
In my research I discovered that the US Government's Armed Forces had paid millions of dollars to address the problem that soldiers of African and Southeast Asian ancestry had when they "Close Shaved" every day per military code of dress. Such daily shaving caused serious problems with ingrown hairs, bumps, and infections.
I eventually got the address of a clinic in Dallas Fort Worth area in Texas, USA. The clinic specialized in serving military clients using the techniques developed by the Armed Forces and as it turned out it was owned and operated at the time by a doctor that is a Transgender Woman and her wife.
The name at the time was Electrolysis 2000 but the name changed to Electrolysis 3000 when the women who were technicians there bought the business from the doctor when they retired.

I transitioned on the job and was fortunate to be earning a good living as part of the Information Technology team at Fifth Third Bank https://53.com in Cincinnati, Ohio.
I only needed hair on my face and my former South Pole removed before surgery, so your result may vary depending on how heavy you face and body hair is.
Postscript
I am still surprised that a group of enterprising Indian Trans Women hasn't banded together to open their own business removing the hair of their sisters.
