General advice
==============================================
1. Follow the Changing Keys training program, 20 minutes in the morning and evening
- Masculine speech goal: Aim for an average pitch of 150-160 hz, and an average difference of 50 hz
- Feminine speech goal: Aim for an average pitch of 190-200 hz, and an average difference of 100 hz.
2. Watch out for tongue and throat tension! Speaking at the bottom or top of your range can be very challenging, so be careful to stay as flexible and relaxed as you can when practicing. You can reduce tension by:
- Periodically stretching your tongue out as far as you can
- Doing your entire practice with your tongue stuck out. (Yes, it really helps!)
- Practicing in the middle of your range
3. Work on keeping your pharynx open. Here's one way of learning the feeling:
a. Look in a mirror.
b. Open your mouth.
c. Spy your uvula.
d. Lift it up by doing a half swallow. (Your pharynx is lifted when your uvula is)
e. Say "ahhhh".
f. Note the rich Corinthian resonance.
4. Sing!
OK, that was alot, I think, I have a few more resources and let me remind you that these resources are not directly from me, they are pinned on a transgender and LGBTQ+ chat group in which I am a member, an active member! ?
Thank the creators of those videos and courses and literature.
Cheers!,
