Updating Voter ID online?

What's your experience updating your voter ID card online through voters.eci.gov.in? Were you able to do it with just your TG Card, or did you need a gazette notice or other documents?

I used my Aadhaar card, which I got updated with TG ID. Yet to hear back from them, but it got to the "BLO Assigned" stage (I applied 2 months ago). I went to the local BBMP office and they essentially said it will work out by itself, that I shouldn't need to do anything. Will keep you updated as it progresses.

mizu so no other documents were required? How will they verify change in name? There was only gender change for you?

I had changed my name long time ago via gazette notice, I don't know the process, my parents handled it. I got most of the new documents such as aadhaar and pan card in my new name. However, voter ID is a in my old name. So even if I was able to update gender on aadhaar with TG card alone, I'm not sure how to how to show them I'm the same person. The whole process of gazette notice seems very tedious and not sure if I can handle it. Even with gazette notice I don't know how to handle gender change notice along with referencing I already changed name over a decade back so the notice will still; be valid for marksheet etc. that's still in birth name. It doesn't fit any templates and most likely going to be a huge back and forth process of trial and error, rejections etc. 🥹

eloise With both PAN and Voter ID, I don't think it required providing additional proof of change of name. Just had to link Aadhaar and the rest was pulled from it. I believe it's verified through the fact that both the old and new Aadhaar IDs are the same.

I recommend you get the TG ID in case your gazette notification did not also include a change of gender marker. After that, update your Aadhaar and then using that update everything else (PAN, voter ID, passport). If your Aadhaar is already updated with both your new name and gender markers, you can use the updated Aadhaar to directly update PAN and voter ID; and Aadhaar + gazette notification to update your passport.
