Can we take other medications on HRT?

This maybe a silly doubt but ... question is for ppl who hav been on hrt -
I myself just started hrt few days ago, but I'm also fallen sick... having cold and fever. I don't think it's side effect of hrt bcos cold might be due to the weather...
My question is can u freely take other medications for sickness while on hrt, or will it mess up the body?!

Aaksandra6202 Ask your Endo if you're taking prescription drugs but usually OTC ones should be fine.
You can also check for drug interactions between your hormones/blockers and anything else you may be taking just by googling. The final word is of course your endo's.

You can take sinarest for cold and dolo for fever they are standard meds

Only if you have headaches write down the frequency and intensity of any headaches you have and try to avoid medication for these headaches unless they are very much unbearable and if they are more frequent with the unbearable intensity visit your endocrinologist immediately without delaying it for your next appointment

As far as sinarest and dolo you can take them but you can contact the doc and confirm it

I think only antibiotics have some interactions with E levels… maybe bumps a bit more. I have continued taking all my HRT medications though, even when I was taking antibiotic or Dolo. Didn’t feel any major issues.

I'm not sure about other medicines, do check with an endo or if you're diy-ing do extensive research.

Also, grapefruit is shown to have an interaction with a lot of medicines, hrt as well, so best stay off that. I don't remember specific info now, but I remember having done some research and arriving at "no eating grapefruit".

And wow grapefruit... That's a shocking revelation!! Thank U for mentioning bcos grapefruit juice we drink very often 😵

delirium And I found it in Google, although the site is only talking about menopausal women.. it mentions to avoid grapefruit while on estradiol

You can take cetirizine/antihistamines and paracetamol safely. Antibiotics mostly the ones used for upper respiratory infections don't have significant interactions. Drink plenty of fluids. If fever persisting by day 4 go consult a doctor directly.
