Difference between progynova and other brands?

I saw progynova 2mg costs 540 something and many other brands of 2mg estradiol like estova by cipla or endonorm ev2 cost around 288-315 something like this, I asked on quora that why is much of hike between brands they told that the company adds R&D costs to their products and as progynova is original product of byers pharma maybe thats why it costs too hight, but my question is has anybody tried estrogen of different brands especially the above mentioned, are the results same?

Shazi I'm not familiar with the retail pricing for this, but I saw Progynova 2mg Tablet (28 tablet strip) @ around ₹450 last month or so at an online pharmacy. Have you tried reputable online pharmacies like 1mg?

In addition to brand hikes, offline pharmacies turn up the prices if there is a shortage of supply but demand is high. It should be illegal to do this, but apparently, all pharmacies do this. My local pharmacy hiked up ₹150+ for my antidepressants, saying they are not getting the supply.

I would suggest asking your endo for an alternative that fits your budget. Everyone's "results" are subjective. Please take your health more seriously and ask a real doctor... 😅

paprika Where did you even find it for 450? I got it this month for box MRP 600. They raise the price by like 50 bucks every few months.

Progynova is useless. It's better to shift to patches/gel. If that's not possible, try estrabet tablets then. It's Estradiol hemihydrate and is far superior to Estradiol valerate. Estrofem (in the US) and Elleste solo (in the UK ) which they prescribe is basically Estradiol hemihydrate.

divya_06235 Don’t say it’s useless, it has done wonders for many people in this world and who are afraid of oral pills only avoid it. So many people got allergic due to using these patches and gels

I am currently on Estradiol gel. It's working so well for me. My E2 levels are now in the range of 140 pg/ ml. It's so convenient to use and is super effective.

Dishsoap It was 1mg. The price seemed to have gone up now. It was at a higher discount before. However, now it's available for ₹525. They usually have some discount going and you'll rarely have to purchase it at full retail price.

If you have their premium subscription (i.e. Care Plan, that's around ₹275 for six months) you can still get it for ₹450. I get a similar discount for my anti-depressant and anti-anxiety meds. So, I have their premium subscription.

I would go for it. I had only good experience with them. You'll need to upload a prescription to purchase from them, though.

I am also prescribed 1mg progynova along with diane 35 as anti-androgen.
It's the initial phase... Just 6 days into HRT.
May I know, does this drug cause harm in long term?
Also, are there better options available?

Ruhanika Progynova doesn't cause any harm in the long term unless and until you have any liver issues. The only issue it might cause is low estrogen levels as Progynova is taken orally and it converts to estrone (a weaker form of estrogen) not estradiol. So check your hormone levels after a month or something to make sure you don't have low estrogen. Diane 35 on the other hand is very risky and has been banned in multiple countries. Diane is a birth control pill which uses ethinyl estradiol, a conjugated estradiol, instead of our bioidentical estradiol so it carries a high risk of life threatening blood clots and heart attacks especially people who have higher body weight or people wgo are exposed to nicotine. Also it's not advisable to stay on Diane for long term. So I would suggest speak with your endo if he can prescribe any other alternative for Diane.

nobleweather may I know, is aldectone/spironolactone a better option than diane35?
My endo said injections are a better option always... Lupride depot. But since I am too afraid of syringes, I insisted him to prescribe me pills... And hence he prescribed diane35. Otherwise he was giving lupride depot 11.25 mg injection.

Ruhanika lupride depot is the best AA out there with minimal side effects if their marketing is to be believed. I checked the graphs and it is basically nuking testosterone production in 3 weeks time.

SophiaUnderShell I agree! LD got amazing results in the beginning of my transition. Only wish I had it from the beginning.

My endo put me on Progynova + AA tablets for the first year. Feminisation effects were minimal - it all went to the chest! But after 12 months, the AA tablets were replaced with LD 11.25mg once in 3 months. Drastic increase in overall effects.

When I was recovering from surgery, I met some girls who had amazing overall feminisation effects and they had always been on a Estradiol injection + Tablet regimen from the beginning. PG is excellent for breast development, but Estradiol injections give the best results. Unfortunately, Estradiol injections are not always available. PG is available everywhere!
