TokumeiM sad that it had to be that way for you, I understand you had to lie in order to get what you wanted from a doctor who don't actually understand trans people completely, in your case you are authentic to yourself but only as of dumb/not so understanding doc you met, you'd had to lie, as it worked for you, it couldn't be the case with everyone else, please stop suggesting people to fake it, as trans community is hanging by thin threads and before insanity, last we need is "they all fake it to".
And funny thing is in my experience I have openly been authentic about my likes and hobbies which are more or less categorised as masculine activities, like fixing up cars and bikes (cargirls we exist), hack electronics/electrical(tech freak), and yet had no issues with docs as they understood that these are just likes and hobbies and those are not never gendered. as I am very fem in nature and everything whatever I do are just "what I do"(shrugging shoulders). So when you are trans man and you like and do something which is known to be dominated by females, I'd hope no one judges you, and if they do then you don't need such people around you(bad doctors).
There's more clarity to the context of lying to doctors now, I believe.

Do other trans women or trans men have beef with me because I do masc and fem hobbies?, yes. Do I care? No, if they can't accept me for what I am then, they are not open minded enough for me, should you do this? Yes. The more thorns we surround ourselves the more rounded up we become. I should stop with the grandma talks here.
