Peace Hi Peace, yeah, I know - there have been many LGBT individuals in the corporate space for a good long while. But I worked mostly in advertising/marketing/retail and in those spaces, the *visible* LGBT representation that retained influence and could be said to be at par with the rest of the crowd were the "straight acting" gay men. Feminine gay men, as I was seen at the time, were definitely struggling to be seen as equally capable. Any lesbians were invisible, transgender folk were non-existent for sure. I also did some work with fashion people - again the LGBT rep was the "designer" crowd - all very fashionably gay. If you were not fashionable but gay, it was a case of sorry #youcantsitwithus. Mostly.
Given I have a bias based on my experience, and even if I negate that -I know only a handful of transwomen who are career enabling roles. It's fair to assume that many others are in stealth, and the ones I know transitioned while on the job. So for someone like me, seeking to join someplace - I have jitters ?
Nevertheless, let's see! ?
