I've updated my gender on my aadhaar and PAN and requested corrections on the voter ID card. While that's brewing, I want to get the most complicated and dubious part out of the way: newspaper ads and gazette notices. I know a gazette notice may not be needed, but to update school and birth certificates, I am asked for it, and the passport office says a gazette is not required but newspaper ads is a must. Any advice on which newspapers to publish ad in would greatly help too.

Most often, whenever someone remotely touches this topic, this is the usual thread we are redirected to: Change of name & gender - Newspaper advertisement. However, let me clarify, that's not the end all be all of making this process bearable. The public notice template linked in the post is too long for a newspaper ad. It's essentially an undertaking statement. No real sample of an actual newspaper ad anywhere.

So, I made one on my own. If you had published a notice in a newspaper, how does this match up? Am I in the right direction?

House Number, House Name, Road Name, Locality, District, State 000000, having Aadhaar No. 0000-0000-0000 and EPIC No. 0000000000, have changed my name to New Name (first name New, last name Name) and gender to Female.

Is this right? Use D/o. for daughter of or C/o. for child of?
